Parable of the Persistent Widow1 One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up. 2 “There was a judge in a certain city,” he said, “who neither feared God nor cared about people. 3 A widow of that city came to him repeatedly, saying, ‘Give me justice in this dispute with my enemy.’ 4 The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, 5 but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’”
6 Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. 7 Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8 I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man[a] returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?”
I can't even begin to tell you how many people have been praying for our housing situation. It surprises me honestly. It's not a dire situation. It's a "want" not a need. We have a great desire to move but no one is sick, no one is dying. But yet, you love us enough to pray even for a desire of our hearts.
Wednesday night at church Marsha R. approached me to tell me she had been praying fervently for me. I was so moved by her words. She said, "I have been praying for God's will of course, but I have been praying, pleading. Lord, grant her the desire of her heart."
This has been a real learning experience for us. A time of growth and maturity. The silver lining I didn't expect was, this has been such an encouraging process. If things had fallen in place quickly and easily, we would have missed out on all of your support and love in a time we really needed it.
Our buyers are a family that really cherishes our home. We believe the house on Russell is a gift from so many of you who helped us. It was hard for us to think it wouldn't be maintained. God sent us a young family that feels blessed by this house and that, in turn, is a blessing to us.
We will be moving in just two weeks! It's so exciting I'm back to not sleeping :)
We are so happy and can't help but think God finally said "yes" so you all would leave Him be :) Thank you for loving us so much that you took our desire and made it yours.
