Our family has been battling a head/chest cold for about 3 weeks. So far I've been muscling through and running through the illness. I decided yesterday (I was to run a short training run) to take the day off and give my body a full 72 hour rest. I actually do feel better today and am eager to head out in the morning (last run was Saturday).
I'm doing my best to find balance with this training, family, health etc. It's easy to get focused on the race in Oct. and forget about something as simple as the flu that morning would keep me from participating. I plan to complete the training and finally run the race but I have to keep my health up in the meantime.
